Circumventing sales on the marketplace

Shops are not allowed to try to circumvent the marketplace sales process by diverting potential or existing customers to visit any external website to complete a transaction elsewhere. These acts are grounds for shop and/or user deactivation.

Fraud & Malicious Intent

It is forbidden for any seller or user to intentionally provide misleading reviews or comments in order to maliciously interfere with their sales or listings. It is not allowed to create new user identities in order to promote or interfere with the sales or reviews of a shop or product listing by upvoting/downvoting or leaving false reviews. These acts are considered fraudulent and are grounds for shop and/or user deactivation.

Seller / Customer Communication

Sellers can use the platform messaging system to communicate regarding specific orders. The platform messaging system should not be used for mass messaging previous customers regarding promotions or other advertising uses. You may not use customer information to contact customers (except through except through the platform messaging system) or share it with any third-party. Customer email information may be viewable for sellers to use in shipments so that the delivery service can contact the customer if necessary but sellers may not use customer email information for any other purpose including but not limited to advertising, promotions or spam. Failure to comply with the Spicerack communication policy is grounds for shop and/or user deactivation.

Sales Tax

Spicerack follows US State enacted marketplace facilitator laws and will automatically calculate, charge and file sales tax to purchases made from customers in the following states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

If you are located in a state not mentioned above you assume responsibility for using the tax settings on your shop to collect and remit the appropriate amount of sales tax in your jurisdiction.

Spicerack can’t provide tax advice and each shop is responsible to research and follow the sales tax laws about collecting and reporting sales tax based on your location. It is recommended that you consult an accountant or other tax expert in your location to ensure you are following regulations.
